These shoes are so comfy because they are very pliable and lightweight. And they fit a standard width foot well. These shoes were a favorite of this boy's older brother, so we got the younger boy a pair, plus we got big brother a second pair as his first one's were getting worn. Though the old shoes are still in pretty good shape with no tears nor any parts coming apart.UPDATE: I still stand by my earlier review, but when I was shopping for shoes for my 18 month old grandson, I thought these are just too expensive for him since he'll grow out of them long before they ware out. I found an alternative that is cheaper and which is very comparable. It is the Skechers Kids Flex Advantage-Master Mind Athletic Sneaker found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AJFZWLW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1I will get the Skechers for the little guy again, and for the older two boys next time, providing they come in large enough sizes for them.
