The shoes are cardboard with material glued to them. Because I have swollen ankles I cannot get the shoes to close securely as the design makes you wrap the closure around your ankle to close. This causes a gap in the front of the shoe so you can see the tops of your feet. When you walk in them, there is no support because they are basically cardboard. Don't waste you money on these or similar on this website.Size may run small, I had to exchange for a size up, but it fits great, comfortably around the heal.
