I am HARD on shoes in the summertime - I work outside, am always in the woods, get in every body of water available, from mudpuddles to rivers, work with large pieces of wood and epoxy, and so forth and so on - I'm sure you get the idea.Every summer, I search for the "perfect shoe" to handle all of this AND be comfortable, durable, and easy to clean so that I can turn around and wear them to run into town without them smelling like rivermuck. Because I am all about simplicity and functionality, I want ONE pair of shoes to be able to do all of this, and until now, I hadn't found them. I've had everything from traditional water shoes to an unbelievably expensive pair of Merrell's, and they were either uncomfortable or couldn't handle the rigors that were expected of them. And then, enter this humble, inexpensive little shoe. Here's what I love:- They are one piece - no insole, so nothing to come loose and wrinkle up under your foot.- The "drainage holes" are on the sides and not the bottom. I've had (2) other pairs of shoes with the holes on the bottom (and mesh uppers), and although they were pretty comfortable on flat surfaces, they were AWFUL to wear outside, because stones and sticks would come up through the bottom all the time (ouch).- They are wide at the toe box - something I need.- They can do it all - I wear them to do EVERYTHING. Haven't put on another pair of shoes since I got them, and they've seen some mileage.- When they get dirty, I throw them in the shower with me. I wash them with one of those duo sponge-scrubbie things. I know that some other folks have complained about the white parts peeling off, but I have not experienced this. I've scrubbed them hard enough that I have actually worn through the white overlay in a couple of small spots, but I've seen no peeling or flaking. I wipe them off with a paper towel afterwards, and get on with my day. No waiting for them to dry, no damp insoles, and no smelly fabric!- They are extremely lightweight, comfortable, and cool.- Added bonus - I found out that when epoxy accidentally gets spilled on them, it wipes off without a trace (but you gotta catch it before it hardens ...)Granted, they're also inexpensive, and I am asking a lot of them, so I expect that I might kill the first pair mid-way through the summer, but for $20, who cares? I like them well enough that I went back and bought the orange ones and the yellow ones to wear for fun, and I also went ahead and bought another pair of the gray ones to keep in reserve for when/if the first pair bites the dust. And I also bought a pair of the dark blue ones for a friend who is as hard on things as I am.So what's not to like?Well, sometimes, there seems to be a disconnect between the size you order and the one that actually shows up at your door. All total, I have ordered (5) pairs of these, and only (2) of them arrived in the size that I specified. (2) of the incorrectly sized ones were close enough that I could make them work. However, the ones that I ordered for my friend were supposed to be a men's size 10, and when they showed up, they were an 8.5. He can wear them for short periods of time without too much discomfort, but then has to back his foot out of the shoe and smash the heel down, wearing them like a Mule, instead of a tenner. Other than this, he agrees with me - they are fantastic.I would (and did) definitely buy again, even knowing that there's a bit of roulette going on with the sizes. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.I love this slip on shoe.i ordered 2 in different sizes. I regularly wear a 10.5 in men's but no size 10.5 , so I ordered a size 11. It was perfect and not too tight. But I left it out in the sun and one side shrunk a little. I ended up buying a size 12 and it was a more better fit.i have wider feet too. The size 11 was a snug fit but the size 12 felt better on my feet.I use it on the go or doing yard work.i get compliments on them alot.Just learned the hard way the sizes in the rectangles for you to select are American shoe sizes. They are not the brand shoe sizes like on the size / fit chart. So a 7/7.5 is actually an American size 7 and not the equivalent of a 10. The actual shoes are really cute. I just either misread or misunderstood the sizing. Pretend the size chart isn’t there and order your normal US size.Nice colorI bought these specifically to be beaters for quick chores/errands, and to use for pools/water parks. Important things to note before purchase: For the two-tone, the white soles and toe cap are just painted on and seem like they'll easily come off with just slightly rubbing against a curb anything with a gritty texture. The solid colors are lower in price in case you're looking to save even more. I'm in the U.S. and this has International sizing. Although it says "true to size," still refer to the sizing charts to make sure you order the proper pair. In the pair I received the right side was slightly tighter (both pairs were matching in size) than the left, but after wearing them a few hours, it did become more comfortable. Just like other shoes similar in sole shape and size (Chucks, Vans, etc.), arch support is minimal to non-existent; and I have a relatively high arch, although I'm not too big a stickler for arch support. All-in-all it's good for the price. It's not going to be my primary shoe for outings, however I would buy another pair to serve the same purposes I mentioned at the beginning of this review.Really cute, comfortable and easy to slip on!The only con, like others have mentioned, the white bottom starts peeling off. I was briefly with them at the beach though so could be why. I still plan to get the grey and a pair for my sister. They are also very lightweight…take with me everywhere just in case I want comfort. These shoes are cute and super comfortable! I’ll definitely buy another pair (at least one) in another color! They’re especially perfect for a day at the beach or lake or whatever to be able to walk comfortably and go in the water is great! The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that the “tongue” (even though it’s not a separate piece) is a little tall and pressed on my ankle but I just trimmed it down with a razor blade and now they’re perfect. The price —- astonishingly inexpensive. I bought them during the big sale but even at their regular price, they are great. I have had a pair for ten years and they finally gave out. These are identical and I paid half of what I paid 10 years ago. I think getting them in your actual size works - at least for me. Just remember these are rubber with lots of holes on top and sides. They do not provide support —Think of them more like flip flops but a shoe and covered toes. And I would not wear flip flops to run out to the market but these work for that too. Yes if you wear them in the sand you will have sand in the shoe. If they get wet when you step in a puddle, your feet get wet but dah. They are promoted as a water or beach shoe but I keep them at the door and slip them on when rushing out as they are fun and funky with jeans and tailored shorts.I really wanted to like these shoes, and I did at first, but after a few wears the white part starts to peel off and leaves a mess of little white bits everywhere. They are also very uncomfortable if you get them wet (they rub and pinch your toes), which is unfortunate because they are all rubber and you'd think they'd be good for that. Would not recommend.Like:* They look really cool.* Fairly airy despite its enclosed design.* Slip on easy.* Good price (@ $25.00)Dislike:* After only having them for a week or two, the white peels off already in places.* They are wearing down fairly quickly as well.* I ordered a size 10, and they are closer to a size 11.I was looking forward to these shoes for a summer trip but they ended up being entirely too big and they were warped (probably from being squished for a long period during shipment). I think that maybe, if they had fit better, I would have worn them and the warp would have gone away, but no, I just threw them in a corner and eventually threw them out. :(I call these my field shoes. When I’m walking my dogs through the fields and the lawns in the summer, the dew soaks my shoes and wearing my barn boots looks a bit odd with shorts. These shoes are a perfect compromise - I can get them wet without worry and they look summery and cute. I’ve had more than a few compliments on them so I guess the neighbours agree that they are far superior to rubber barn boots for summer wear.
